Taipei Cycle Forum Speaker’s Line-Up Announced

Bicycle design, cycling culture, e-bike trends and future city are the four main themes of this year’s Taipei Cycle Forum. The event which take place during Taipei Cycle, is hosted by show organizer TAITRA.

Invited guests include Jan van Zanen, Mayor of Utrecht, Netherlands as well as cycling industry heavyweights both local and global. Building on the interactive learning elements from last year’s Forum, the four main themes will bring the industry’s key thinkers together in an inclusive, hands-on event, providing a wealth of knowledge about current and future trends in the industry.

 

The Taipei Cycle Forum sessions take place on 28 and 29 March, at Nangang Exhibition Center Hall 1, Conference Room 401.

Innovative designs & developing trends  

The first day, 28 March, will begin with Bicycle Design, when Mark Sanders, Director of MAS Design Products, Stephan Esser, of SQlab, and Henry Chang, the internationally-renowned Chief Designer of Gearlab, will explore developing trends in the cycling industry from the perspective of innovative design.

 

Guest from one of the world’s foremost cycling nations  

The second session, Cycling Culture will include a guest from one of the world’s foremost cycling nations, the Netherlands, when Mayor Jan van Zanen of Utrecht will join Vicki Yang, CEO of the Cycling Lifestyle Foundation, and Rich Conroy, Director of Education at Bike New York, in a discussion about new ideas to optimise cycling environments.

 

Future of e-bikes for the industry

On 29 March, during the third session e-bike Trends, the speakers will discuss insights about the future of e-bikes. Speakers will be Susanne Brüsch, CEO of the Pedelec Adventures, Marian Baukrowitz, Director of Research for the German agency 4C Consumer Insight, and Manuel Marsilio, General Manager of the Confederation of the European Bicycle Industry (CONEBI).

Limited number of seats available

The final session of the Forum, Future City, Morten Kabell, CEO of the Copenhagenize Design Company in Denmark, Shyue-tair Chen, Commissioner of the Department of Transportation for the Taipei City Government, and Kevin Mayne, CEO of Cycling Industries Europe, will be invited to discuss the previous three sessions.
